KPBD Ramadan Blood Donation drive 06-April-2023

Kuwait Pakistan Blood Donors Association (KPBD) held a Ramadan Blood Donation drive on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Kuwait Central Blood Bank. The event was attended by honorable guests, His Excellency Mr. Malik Muhammad Farooq (The Ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait), Her Excellency Mrs. Tuba Nur Sönmez (The Ambassador of Türkiye to Kuwait), and Dr. Ameera AlHassan (Head of United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) GCC Kuwait Mission).
KPBD was established with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of blood donation, and since then, it has conducted more than a dozen blood donation drives yielding thousands of pints of blood donations.
The blood donation camp was dedicated to earthquake-affected Turkish people as a solidarity gesture from Pakistani brothers. The Pakistani community in Kuwait showed their solidarity and gratitude through overwhelming attendance and blood donations at the event. A huge number of donors came forward to honor us by donating blood in a short span of 3 hours (between 8:00 PM to 11.00 PM).
The presence of the dignitaries, H.E Mr. Malik Muhammad Farooq, H.E Mrs. Tuba Nur Sönmez, and Dr. Ameera AlHassan, and Mr. Furrukh Amir Sial, Community Welfare Attaché, encouraged and motivated the blood donors as well as organizers.
All the dignitaries warmly welcomed Team KPBD including Mr. Muhammad Arif Butt (Chairman), Mr. Malik Sajid Ali (President), Mr. Athar Hussain (Vice President), Mr. Emad Mir, Mr. Syed Shabbir Qadri, Mr. Fiaz Ahmad, Mr. Shahbaz Afzaal, Mr. Mudassar Arshaad, Mr. Ahmed Raza, and Mr. Sameer Abdul Rehman.
During their visit to the blood bank, the dignitaries were overwhelmed by the commitment and dedication of the Pakistani community in Kuwait. Her Excellency Mrs. Tuba Nur Sönmez, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Kuwait, and Dr. Ameera Al Hassan, Head of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) GCC Kuwait Mission also donated blood, setting an example of humanitarianism.
The event was sponsored by PBC Pakistan Business Council, Zajil-KEMS, Al-Bahr Company, Seara & Al Faisal ended with a note of thanks from the organizing committee, appreciating the donors and volunteers who selflessly made the event a complete success.
